Failure to Launch

Our failure to launch client is someone who has had a hard time getting going in life. There are many reasons why this happens to some people, and often times the cause gets confused with the outcomes like the age old question of the chicken and the egg. Sometimes depression causes the lethargy, which results in the pot smoking on the couch day after day. Sometimes it’s the fear of being judged that leads to isolation and depression. It’s often hard to tell at first glance and requires a bit of exploration and uncovering of Battleground Beliefs, exploration of Family Maps, and challenging your beliefs one at a time until the story is unwound and rebound into a successful novel of life skills and responsible behavior.

What does that even mean? Who does it affect? Help me understand.

Here’s what it means to us:

Socially Stranded: you often experience feelings of loneliness, which lead to feeling disconnected from your friends; you think they are progressing in life at a faster pace than you. Perhaps you even become socially disconnected altogether feeling shameful that your life stages are moving slower.
Physically Stranded: you often experience physical in-capabilities that are holding you back from progressing in life. You may feel debilitated by stress, causing you to sleep more, become depressed, and feel lethargic. Perhaps you overeat, under-eat, feel fatigued and are overcome by sadness.
Financially Stranded: you often experience financial imprisonment that most likely stems from poor financial decision making in the past. Be it poor planning, lack of follow through, or the inability to earn more than you spend. Many people become paralyzed financially and remain dependent on parents, friends and family.
Spiritually Stranded: you often appear to others as though you are losing your light, seemingly unhappy and lack serenity. Your low self-esteem, loneliness and self-induced shame often keep you from experiencing naturally positive feelings or a connection to a higher power or spiritual force.

Once we start to work together and uncover the layers of cause and effect, our team helps the family determine the best possible solution. Sometimes it is an inpatient treatment program to address a drug addiction or an eating disorder. Sometimes it is therapy and an outpatient program to address the depression. Whatever the case, we work together to find the right solution for you and your family.

Another approach that we recommend is a Breakfree Journey. Often times the remedy is some fresh air, an adventure, and some deep soul-searching and spirit-infused work.
